Martin Luther King Celebration Comes to South Orange Middle School

The celebration will be held Monday from 10 a.m. to noon.

The South Orange and Maplewood School District elementary PTA's will hold a Martin Luther King Day celebration for the whole family.

Rev. Sandye Wilson of St. Andrew’s Episcopal & Holy Communion Church in South Orange will host the event. The Columbia High School Chamber Choir who will contribute a few musical selections, among other guest speakers and performances.

“In the spirit of the day and Dr. King, we are asking families to bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to food pantries in the Maplewood and South Orange community,” PTA members said.

The event will be held Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at South Orange Middle School. Tickets are $7 per person and can be purchased in advance or at the door.
