SOMA Schools Got Summer Renovations

The district completed key repairs and renovations to schools throughout the district, in preparation for the 2012-13 school year.

 

During the summer months, the South Orange - Maplewood School District caught up on renovations and maintenance to ensure the schools were ready for students in the fall.

At the most recent Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Brian Osborne gave the board and the community an update of the work that had been completed or was in the process of being completed.

Business Administrator Cheryl Schneider provided a complete list:

  • Bathrooms at elementary schools
  • Bathrooms at South Mountain, Seth Boyden and Maplewood Middle School are still in progress (this carryover into the fall was anticipated)
  • Electrical supply work at the high school
  • South Orange Middle School science labs
  • Maplewood Middle bleacher replacement
  • lighting replacement throughout the district (some portions of the project still be completed)
  • Roof work at Maplewood Middle
  • Painting projects throughout the district
  • Carpet replacement throughout the district
