Columbia Boys, Girls Fencing Teams Advance to State Championship

Teams aim to sweep both titles next Wednesday.

The Columbia High boys and girls fencing teams will each compete for the state championship next week.

The defending state champion boys beat Livingston 14-8 in the Final Four Wednesday at NJFA in Maplewood, while the 2012 state champion girls upended Ramapo 14-6 in the semifinals.

The top-seeded boys will face No. 2 Bernards and the No. 1 girls team will battle third-seeded Ridge next Wednesday at Morris Hills High School at 7:30 p.m.
