"Really, our focus is to making sure parents have some options and ideas on how to keep children physically and mentally active through the summer months," Robyn Trewick of the South Mountain YMCA told Patch. "Too often, children check out and when September starts get active again. [Summer] is not sitting on your bum, sleeping in or watching TV all day. It's a time to explore, meet new people, gain new hobbies and remain active throughout the summer."
