A Midsummer Maplewood Farmers Market

Every Monday through October, the corner of Springfield and Indiana offers fresh and tasty treats.

It is the middle of summer, and the Maplewood Farmers Market is teeming with ripe, delicious produce and other treats.

Here is a just a sampling of what you can find at the market, which is every Monday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the corner of Springfield Avenue and Indiana Street: red ripe tomatoes that put the supermarket ones to shame, fresh and tender salad greens, corn on the cob, herbs, colorful peppers, tender zucchini (including the round varietals), peaches and blueberries.

There are also olives, pickles, honey, doughnuts, breads and more. Try Hoboken Farms' delicious fresh mozzarella, ravioli and broccoli-stuffed chicken breasts -- perfect for an easy summer dinner.

New this year: Cambodian Cuisine, a food truck offering authentic Cambodian food. Try the #14, with chicken and veggies in a curry sauce. The friendly owner will tone down or turn up the spice factor, depending on how you like it.

The market stays open through October.
