Jersey Cares Coat Drive Launches in Maplewood

Betcha coulda used a warm winter coat last week, huh?

Well, even though temperatures may be warming up a bit this week, the folks at on Inwood Place in Maplewood are getting serious about the cold. The local office is helping those less fortunate get ready for the frigid winds of winter by sponsoring the local Jersey Cares Annual Coat Drive.

"We are hoping to collect as many coats as possible for those in need," said Cherie Leanza of GenWealth.

The goal of the coat drive, said Leanza, is to collect and distribute 50,000 "gently used" winter coats to at-risk men, women and children. Over the past fifteen years, Jersey Cares has collected, sorted and distributed hundreds of thousands of winter coats to New Jersey residents in need.

This year, GenWealth is serving as a coat collection site. "We will sort and transport all coats that we collect to those in need this holiday," said Leanza. Just drop off your clean, gently used coats for men, women and children in the lobby bin at The GenWealth Group at 6 Inwood Place in Maplewood Village anytime between November 7 and December 15, between Monday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m
