"The impact of our current economic environment has left our shelters in dire need," said Marzano. "I started out with bedding and towel donations, but now I am coordinating toiletries, clothes, kids’ toys, and even toilet paper, from both individuals and hotels. Any other useable items and assistance for the shelters is desperately needed, so we need to get the word out there."

This month, Marzano is working with Dorothy Peace, volunteer for the Apostle Houses, and Steve Staudt, manager at the Marriott hotel, to coordinate a large donation of blankets, sheets, toiletries, and towels to the shelter system.

"Necessities that we take for granted, like bedding and towels, provide comfort to the families at the Apostle Houses," said Peace. “Not only that, but we get to eliminate these items from our budget needs. Steve and his team at the Marriott are always thinking of us, and we are so grateful.”
