CHS Homecoming, FlowerBomb This Weekend in Maplewood, South Orange

If you are looking for some fun and exciting weekend activities for the family, there are plenty of local events to choose from.

Columbia High School will hold its homecoming parade on Friday, Oct. 18 from 3:05 to 3:30 p.m. Show your school spirit!

Maplewood will hold its Talk to the Township Committee where residents can mingle and speak with members of the township committee in an informal setting. The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Walgreen's, 1633 Springfield Ave.

The Maplewood Health Dept. Flu Shot Clinic will be Saturday, Oct. 19 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Municipal Building at 574 Valley Street,

The clinic is for adults 18 years of age and older. Pregnant women must bring note from their doctor. MEDICARE PART B will be accepted. MUST BRING MEDICARE CARD. The Maplewood Lions Club 5K Race will be on Sunday, Oct. 20 from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kinds Supermarket on Maplewood Ave.

The South Orange Village Center Alliance is looking for volunteers to help plant thousands of tulips to burst out of the ground come spring and bring a smile to the face of residents and visitors.

The bulb planting party will take place on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. at Spiotta Park. The day will start with coffee and breakfast and run until 2 pm. Afterwards, a celebratory post-planting pizza party will be held at Reservoir Restaurant.
