Turtle Back Zoo's annual Groundhog Day event, featuring "Essex Ed," will be held Sunday at 11 a.m.

The zoo's resident groundhog will make his annual weather forecast and will predict what team will win the Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium.

The groundhog event, which will be held rain or shine, is open to the public and part of the regular zoo admission cost.

I like Essex Ed but please remember he is a rodent and not a meteorologist. We need to leave to the professionals to make errant predictions on the weather.

I was hoping divincenzo was going pop through the doors of mcloone's boathouse, see his shadow, then announce six more weeks of winter!

As Monday's article says, Essex Ed has been right 44 of 50 predictions which is better that the professionals
