In Maplewood for more than 10 years, Academy Resource Center (ARC) offers a variety of educational services, including one-on-one tutoring, homework help, and test prep. Tutoring is available for all subjects for students from elementary school through college (and for adults during the day).
The dedicated and patient instructors, headed by Dr. Jennifer Parish, the founder, include Ph.D.'s and early-childhood education specialists, all with expertise in their discipline. Math and science is a strong specialty here, which has been particularly helpful for high school Advanced Placement (AP) program students.
One of the ARC's goals is to improve communications among the student, the tutor, the teacher and the parent to enhance the student's self esteem and independence. They serve between 15 and 25 students a day and currently accept all applicants.
