This place doesn’t have the gravitis to be a quality establishment. It is a hokie imitation of Stone Barn. The "local" pretense doesn't stand up. The food would not meet the low standards of the least discerning Tuscan chef. The spoiled pompous staff, frequents your table every 5 minutes, interrupting your conversation continually. The only conversational word they seem to know is: enjoy. ENJOY, ENJOY (chew more gum), ENJOY, uggg!! [my response]. They remove your plate with food still on it. After touching it they ask whether you are done. The water bottles are dirty. They display an attitude of ignorance and annoyance when told of dietary restrictions. A small slice of bread is served, only if you ask. You are given about 2 tablespoons of olive oil. They only have 1 pepper grinder. You must ask every-time you need pepper. Then wait, as your food gets cold. You must ask for wine glasses even after the wait-staff opens your bottle. Our bill was incorrect. The waiter consulted with someone else, who came to our table to explain that we were wrong. After correcting her, instead of thanking us for our business, she flung my card at me and stormed away. It is obvious to us the owner does not care about professionalism. He only cares about a fake, pretentious and phony image. A word about the "hempie," pseudo-farmer’s market: Yuccch!!! It's more important for the owner to taut the "sustainable" and "organic" catch-words, than being sensitive to his customers. Don't go!

Awesome brick oven soups and pizza!

And, bonus: Dan's a very nice guy, too!

Without a doubt the best brick oven pizza I've ever had. Correction, without a doubt the best pizza I've ever had!

But that's just the beginning...
Dan's pasta dishes are enough for two, both in flavor and in size. My favorite, penne w/sausage ragu, but I've loved them all.

My favorite salad, his goat cheese salad which is made with fresh baby greens, goat cheese, dried cranberries and red onion with balsamic vinaigrette.

Small plates, my two favorites, Dan's fire roasted meatballs and his ceci, chick peas marinated in extra virgin olive oil with cucumbers and parmigiano.

Arturos Osterio and Pizzeria to me is NJ's "best kept secret."

****

I'm not sure if it's the amazing thin crust margarita pies or the eclectic fresh Saturday night tastings that makes Arturo's the best place in NJ... Maybe it’s just knowing you are eating incredibly fresh food that is always uniquely yummy!
