Coda Kitchen & Bar, formerly of Springfield Avenue, moved to Maplewood Village as Indigo Kitchen & Bar back in 2009, adding a new zest to Maplewood's downtown. Owners Lance and Bradley, despite the location switch, still serve their classic Kansas City barbecue that they have offered since 2002.

Coda Kitchen & Bar features an extra-large bar, which serves cocktails and a wide menu of barbequed recipes. Some of the favorites on the menu include grilled short rib, red velvet cake, beef brisket and honey barbecue wings.

The restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and also serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

I had last minuet change of plans for a holiday dinner last Sunday evening and at 8p.m. CODA said yes to our party of 12.
We were all extremely happy with the food, wine and wait staff. The food especially was wonderful - not one complaint from anyone in the party.

(4 and a half stars) Indigo Kitchen and Bar is an impressive addition to the Maplewood Avenue restaurant row. I stopped in for dinner a few nights after the soft opening and was thoroughly impressed by the delicious, large cobb salad appetizer (only 6 dollars!) and the beef brisket entree. The Kansas City style barbecue sauce is incredible, and the sweet potato side is divine. The portions are just right, and the barbecue is the best I've had outside of the South. The restaurant itself is also well laid out, with soft lighting, trendy decor, and an ample bar with comfortable seating for patrons waiting for a table. Once the staff works around the service kinks normal to any new restaurant, Indigo will be a five star standard for me and for all of Maplewood. Bravo, Indigo!
