- One long siren blast will be sounded by the South Orange and Maplewood fire departments at 7 a.m. to indicate an all-day closure.
- Tune into 1010 WINS, WOR (710) and WFAN (660) to check on a closure or delay via radio.
- TV stations broadcasting school closures and delays are Channel 4, Channel 7, Channel 5, Channel 12 (News 12 New Jersey) and Channel 19 (CCN in South Orange).
- Residents are also notified of delays through three 15-second siren blasts at 7 a.m., 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
- If there's a delayed opening, elementary and middle schools will open two hours late. Columbia High School opens at 10 a.m.

- If schools are closed due to inclement weather for more two days, the missed time will be made up during Spring Recess, scheduled for April 13-17. If closures take place after April 17, the time will be made up for at the end of the school year.
