The Ethical Culture Society of Essex County

The Ethical Culture Society of Essex County is part of the American Ethical Union and takes as its guiding principle:More "our highest human ideal is to act so as to elicit the best in others and thus ourselves." A main focus of the members is exploring philosophical and current questions of the day. 

The Essex County chapter, located at Prospect and Parker since 1951, has a had several leaders over the course of its history. Presently, the lay leadership is presiding at the weekly platform presentations and at special events. Boe Meyerson and Jim White are Leaders Emeriti.  Jim White now serves as Leader at another Ethical Culture Society in Riverdale, NY.
