Op-Ed: The Importance of Childhood Vaccines

The recent occurrence of chickenpox (varicella) in our school district brings home the importance of up to date immunizations, especially in a child’s developmental school age years. While I appreciate this note, I'd like to add it is my understanding the school district is required to enforce its policy requiring proof of vaccinations prior to enrollment, and there are no excuses or exemptions provided. This is very important to us parents and we expect the District to make no mistakes here.   more ›
