Time for Flu Shots in Maplewood

From the Maplewood Health Department: It is the time of year to think about seasonal illnesses, most importantly influenza or the “flu”. It is a contagious, respiratory illness caused by viruses that infect the nose, throat and lungs that can be mild or severe and at times can lead to pneumonia and death. It is unpredictable and can vary from season to season. The best way to protect yourself and your family members is to get vaccinated against the flu. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends a yearly flu shot for everyone 6 months of age and older as the first and most important step in protecting against the flu. The Maplewood Health Department is sponsoring two (2) flu vaccination clinics for adults age 18 and older: Thursday…

I am so glad you are bringing attention to the need for, and the availability of flu vaccinations for the public. As a registered nurse, I often hear people day that they won't get a flu shot because they think it can give them the flu. I wrote and article on this subject just last week.
