Newsweek: CHS One of Top 1500 US High Schools

According to a Newsweek report, the school holds the 1048th spot

Newsweek has ranked Columbia High School among the 1,500 top U.S. high schools, according to a Web exclusive on its Web site. The ranking is based on a ratio that takes "the number of Advanced Placement, Intl. Baccalaureate and/or Cambridge tests taken by all students at a school in 2008 divided by the number of graduating seniors," as per the Newsweek site.  CHS occupies the 1048th spot, making it the 34th highest placing of the 49 New Jersey schools on the list. Nearby Millburn High School is No. 170, while the top contender on the New Jersey list is Jersey City's McNair Academic High School at No. 85. To see the full list, click here.
