NJExperts.com: Scammers Hit Maplewood Real Estate Listings

Real Estate site spotlights fake real estate listing prices on Craigslist.

According to a post on the realtor Sue Adler's blog, internet scam artists have been offering fake online rental listing for Maplewood homes. According to the post, the current owner of a Maplewood home recently put on the market for sale, spotted an ad on Craigslist offering the home for rent. Adler contacted the person falsely offering the home for rent. The person said they claimed to be in West Africa volunteering with the Rafiki Foundation and said they wanted to rent their home. Adler noted several similar Craigslist ads, which all offered homes for monthly rent of $1200, suspiciously low for the properties listed.
