$1,000 Gifts to Jewish Camp Available to First-Time Campers

One Happy Camper grants administered by The Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life.

Essex County campers enrolling in a Jewish Camp for the first time this summer may be eligible for a $1,000 gift toward enrollment through One Happy Camper NJ. The $1,000 grants are administered regardless of income by The Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life, an agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ. To be eligible, campers must be 7- to 17-years-old, reside in Essex, Morris, Sussex, Union and parts of Somerset counties, and attend public school or secular, private school. The camper must be enrolled in one of the more than 150 Jewish residential summer camps around the United States listed at the Foundation for Jewish Camp website. Maplewood Author To Perform at West Orange Event

"Big in China" author Alan Paul is guest speaker at Size Matters, for young adults.

  Alan Paul, author of Big in China: My Unlikely Adventures Raising a Family, Playing the Blues and Becoming a Star in Beijing (Harper), which USA Today hailed as “big–hearted memoir with emotional depth,” will be the guest speaker and performer at Size Matters, the opening event of the Young Leadership Division (YLD) of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ (Federation). The night out for young adults will take place on Wednesday, October 17, beginning at 7 p.m. at The Loft at 350, 350 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange (part of the Wilshire Grand Hotel). The evening will include cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dessert, a special performance by Paul and his band, Big in China, and an introduction to Federation’s supersized geographic area. …
