Busy Summer at Maplewood Library

A sleepover for stuffed animals, cake decorating for kids, and tonight, an Artist Reception.

  Maplewood Memorial Library has been busy this week. The library hosted a Stuffed Animal Sleepover for children and their stuffed animals on Monday. On Tuesday, Able Baker Julie Pauly taught 30 children the art of cupcake decorating.  Tonight, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. the library will host a Summer Art and Music reception in conjunction with its July and August exhibits of two Maplewood artists: sculptor B. John Kaufman, creator of the annual July 4th townwide art project, and acclaimed fine arts photographer Joy Yagid. Columbia High School student Rueben Morris will play the harp, and both artists will discuss their work. Name: Joy Yagid Lived in Maplewood since: 1998 Blog Title: 366 Days of Pix - One Pix a Day. Blog Link: http://joyyagid.blogspot.com/ Describe your blog: I force myself to take at least one image a day fro me! I must post at least on but no more than 5 photos a day - but I have a grace period to get them posted. The idea behind this was for a very long time I only took pix for clients and not so much for myself. This year being a leap year, gave me an idea to take a photo a day for 366 days.
