Busy Summer at Maplewood Library
A sleepover for stuffed animals, cake decorating for kids, and tonight, an Artist Reception.
Maplewood Memorial Library has been busy this week. The library hosted a Stuffed Animal Sleepover for children and their stuffed animals on Monday. On Tuesday, Able Baker Julie Pauly taught 30 children the art of cupcake decorating. Tonight, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. the library will host a Summer Art and Music reception in conjunction with its July and August exhibits of two Maplewood artists: sculptor B. John Kaufman, creator of the annual July 4th townwide art project, and acclaimed fine arts photographer Joy Yagid. Columbia High School student Rueben Morris will play the harp, and both artists will discuss their work. "I'm very happy to have my work up in my local library," said Yagid.
