  Tim Squyres, a longtime Maplewood resident, has been nominated for an Academy Award for Film Editing for the "Life of Pi." The film also has been nominated for Best Picture and Best Director for Ang Lee. Squyres, Lee's longtime editor, was previously nominated for an Oscar for editing Lee’s “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.”  The four other nominees in the category are editors for Argo, Silver Linings Playbook, Zero Dark Thirty and Lincoln. Maplewood Resident Nominated for Oscar, Star-Ledger Layoffs in Top County News

Tim Squyres, a longtime Maplewood resident, has been nominated for an Academy Award for Film Editing for the "Life of Pi." Essex County will host a job fair for positions at the South Mountain Recreation Complex in West Orange later this month.  West Orange, Livingston, Cranford and Scotch Plains residents had their cars broken into in Short Hills Jan. 11. Joseph Aziz, a 26-year-old student from Weehawken, expects to work with the university to take classes in the spring semester. The publisher of The Star-Ledger announced Wednesday the paper would be laying off 34 employees, a first for a publication famous in the industry for refraining from layoffs, NJ.com reported.
