Parents as Partners, Health Clinics and More This Week in Maplewood

Here's a look at what's ahead in town.

  Today is Recycling Day for all Residents. Remember to have your recyclables at the curb no later than 6 a.m. Today from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hilton Branch Library, the Maplewood Health Department will host an Adult Health Program, including blood pressure screening, weight measurement, carotid bruits screening, medication counseling as needed, health counseling and referrals as needed. For an appointment, call 973-762-8120, ext 4300. The Maplewood Farmer’s Market is open from 2-7 p.m. on Springfield Avenue at Indiana Street. Tax Reassessment and Nostalgia This Week in Maplewood

Here's a look at what's coming up in town this week.

  The Maplewood Farmers Market is open today from 2-7 p.m. on Springfield Avenue at Indiana Street.   The Maplewood Township Committee will meet on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Maplewood Town Hall. The meeting will feature an information session with representatives from Appraisal Systems, Inc., which is conducting the township's tax reassessment.  The public will be able to ask questions about the process in person, via email livemeeting@twp.maplewood.nj.us or by phone (973-762-8120, ext. 4902 or 4903). The meeting will be broadcast live on Comcast Channel 35, Verizon FIOS Channel 24.    Sign up for Play Guitar! Yom Kippur, Distilled Spirits and More This Week in Maplewood

Here's a look at what's coming up this week in town.

The Maplewood Farmers Market is open today from 2-7 p.m. on Springfield Avenue at Indiana Street. Tonight at 7:30 p.m. the South Orange - Maplewood School District will hold a Board of Education Meeting at 525 Academy St. The agenda is attached here. Remember, all South Orange - Maplewood School District Schools will have a day off on Wednesday for Yom Kippur. On Thursday from 7:30 - 9:00, author Don Lattin will share his book Distilled Spirits at Words Bookstore. The Maplewood Community Band will be recruiting interested musicians to play in their ensemble on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in DeHart Park.

School's Out and More This Week in Maplewood

Here's a look at what's coming up this week in town.

  The South Orange - Maplewood School District is closed for Rosh Hashanah on Monday, Sept. 17, and Tuesday, Sept. 18. The Maplewood Farmers Market is open today from 2-7 p.m. on Springfield Avenue at Indiana Street. Tonight at 7:45, the Maplewood Men's Glee Club will be accepting new members as rehearsals begin for the fall season. DeHart Community Center, 120 Burnett Ave., Maplewood. The Maplewood Township Committee will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting is back at the Maplewood Municipal Building after a summer hiatus at the Maplewood Police Building. Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors and networking for people seeking employment, will meet at the Maplewood Memorial Library on Wednesday, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

A Midsummer Farmers Market

Scenes from this week's Maplewood market.

  The Maplewood Farmers Market is chock full of late summer produce and other goodies. In addition to the farm stands, there is Lickt Gelato, Green Acres Farmstand (pastry mixes) and Hoboken Farms. Tomatoes are at their peak, peaches are ripe and juicy -- and apples are just beginning to appear. The market, located on the corner of Springfield Avenue and Indiana Street, is open every Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. through October.

On Monday, the Maplewood Farmer’s Market is open from 2-7 p.m. on Springfield Avenue at Indiana Street. In addition to the fresh produce -- much of which is at its peak now -- make sure to sample some Lickt Gelato, made by a Maplewood local. Maplewood Farmers Market Opens Today!

Time to load up on Jersey Fresh fruits, veggies, baked goods, condiments, pickles and more.

The Maplewood’s Farmers Market begins its 18th year of operation starting today, Monday, June 11 and continues every Monday through October 29. Open from 2 to 7 p.m., the market offers fresh fruits and vegetables from New Jersey farms, plus fresh breads, cookies and muffins (in different shapes!), all sort of pickled products, and Italian specialty foods.  According to the Maplewood Township website, there will be several new vendors this year, featuring pulled pork, chicken and brisket sandwiches and ribs; fresh lemonade, and dried nuts and fruits.   The market is located on Springfield Avenue at Indiana Street in the municipal parking lot. Free parking is available. Credit cards and WIC checks are accepted by the farmers.
