Anne Hathaway's Oscar Dress Mess

Anne Hathaway's co-star in "Les Miserables", Amanda Seyfried, may have derailed the Millburn graduate's plan for what to wear on the red carpet at the 2013 Academy Awards.

The 2013 Oscar ceremony is history but there's still buzz about what the stars wore on the red carpet and why. Turns out Anne Hathaway's co-star in "Les Miserables," Amanda Seyfried, may have caused her to make a hasty last-minute gown selection change. According to recent reports on Entertainment Wise, when Hathaway saw a photo of the gown Seyfried planned to wear Sunday, Hathaway made a last minute wardrobe change because the gowns were so similar. Seyfried walked the carpet in a pale appliqued dress by British designer Alexander McQueen. Local Favorite, Hathaway Wins Her First Oscar

Anne Hathaway, 30, who started off acting in Millburn, won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress Sunday night.

 Anne Hathaway won her first Oscar Sunday night at the 85th Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Les Miserables." "I had a dream," Hathaway, 30, who grew up in Millburn, said backstage to reporters after recieving her Oscar, the New York Daily News reported."And it came true. And it can happen. And it's wonderful." Although Hathaway, 30, was born in Brooklyn, she moved to the Wyoming section of Millburn at an early age and started her acting career, according to the Item.  Her first production, Hathaway starred in "Aladdin" at the Paper Mill Playhouse, the report stated.  In high school Hathaway won Paper Mill Playhouse's Rising Star Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theatre. Local Designers' Gifts featured in Oscar Swag Bags

Jewelery and maternity wear among the gifts to celebrities.

Hollywood stars and media types have been collecting their Oscar swag this week and tucked inside some of those bags is merchandise from a Short Hills clothing designer and a Millburn jewelry designer. Millburn jewelry designer Debrah Block Krol, who was featured recently on Fox Business, had the opportunity to share her dbk designs in swag bags at both the Golden Globes in January in the Oscar swag at the GBK Celebrity Gift Lounge. Krol gave out a "mermaid" cuff (see photo) in association with The Artisan Group, and is watching the show tonight with extra interest.
