A little snow did little to frighten away the Seth Boyden School faithful on Friday night as parents, students and friends of the school turned out for the 2nd Annual Seth Boyden Spotlight Parent-Staff Talent Show. The auditorium was about 75 percent full as fans came to cheer Principal Mark Quiles and parent luminaries like Marco Ranieri, Charlie Pollock, Bud Mishkin, Bruno Lee and Kendra Thyne as they exhibited their respective professional music, theater, media, jazz and ballet credentials. 2nd Annual Seth Boyden Spotlight shines a light on local talent that has made it big time.
From the Oakland Ballet to Broadway, some parents at Seth Boyden Demonstration School have serious creative credentials. Take Charlie Pollock, for example. Pollock has originated roles on Broadway including Dwayne Rhodes in 9 to 5: The Musical. He's also played Bobby Strong on Broadway in Urinetown. But the bright lights of Broadway haven't gone to Pollock's head.
