YOEC To Nurture Young Musicians This Summer

Weekly sight-reading classes offered to all musicians, no audition required.

Young musicians are being offered the opportunity to play in the Youth Orchestras of Essex County (YOEC) this summer. One of the most challenging skills for any musician is to master sight-reading of orchestral scores, especially when playing with other instruments.  With this in mind, YOEC decided to introduce a new summer program that will help youth musicians work on their sight-reading skills and as an additional bonus introduce new literature.  Lou Kosma, Kimberly Syvertsen and Max Morden will conduct the sessions throughout the summer.  Each conductor has worked extensively with youth orchestras and brings a world of orchestral experience to the program.  They will provide sight-reading tips, a variety of orchestral literature at …
