Christopher Shamburg receives honor and a letter from Gov. Christie.
Dr. Christopher Shamburg, a Maplewood resident and father of two Clinton School students, was presented with a teaching award from the State of New Jersey on April 20 at the Chauncey Hotel and Conference Center in Princeton. Shamburg works a professor of Educational Technology at New Jersey City University and is the author of several books. Shamburg received the Award for Distinguished Faculty at the State's "Excellence in Teacher Preparation" Awards. In a letter to Shamburg, Gov. Chris Christie wrote, "There is nothing more important to the future of our State than the education of our children." New Jersey's governor is giving his State of the State address today, outlining his goals for 2012.
Governor Chris Christie delivered his "State of the State Address" to the 215th Session of the Legislature and New Jersey residents at 3 p.m. Tuesday. In his address, Christie outlined his goals for the coming year and what he has accomplished his first two years in office. In his speech, he touched on hot button issues of education and pension reform and called for a 10 percent state income tax cut. For more details on Christie's speech, read our wrap-up article here.
