Tipping Their Hats to the Maplewood Library

Blame it on the royal wedding. The subject of hats, a long forgotten part of the wardrobe, has popped back into the spotlight. Princess Beatrice's topper aside, when was the last time anyone gave a thought to a hat, other than for protection from the elements? Marcia Leonard had that same thought. Leonard, a former library board member, started ruminating about hats but not in a literal sense. Mused Leonard, "How many 'hats' does a woman wear?" Mother? Companion? Teacher? Helper? Worker?
