A local man was robbed after a ruse by a female driver to get him to approach the car, police say.
The man was walking at the corner of Boyden Ave. and Van Ness Terr. in Maplewood around 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28 when a woman drove up and asked him for directions.
As the man approached the car, two men got out of the car and demanded the victim's cell phone and sneakers. The men got in the car and all three fled towards Union on Van Ness Terr., according to a police report.

The men appeared to be in their late teens or early 20's, the victim told police.
